Scientists have discovered the world’s oldest known winery, secreted amid dozens of prehistoric graves in a cavern in Armenia, an international research team said Tuesday.

A Prehistory of Wine
No one knows who first made wine or domesticated wild grapes, but vintners today produce about 6.6 billion gallons of wine every year. Recent archaeological discoveries suggest that the art of fermenting wine is a biotechnology breakthrough as old as civilization itself.

You can use…

Elderberry Syrup

1 cup fresh or 1/2 cup dried berries
3 cups water
1 cup raw honey

Bring berries and water to a boil, turn down and simmer for 30-40 min.
Smash berries and strain through a fine mesh strainer.

Add honey, bottle and store in the refrigerator. It should keep 2-3 ms.
Note: I added Astragalus Root to this batch for an extra immune booster.

Caution: Use only blue elderberries. Red are potentially toxic.

Recipe from Rosemary Gladstar’s Family Herbal.

Elderberry syrup is a must have for any medicine cabinet, especially right now with the flu we have going around. It fights coughs, colds, influenza and it is quite…
